I took this picture 2 years back during a trip to Akan, Hokkaido. The Akan National Park is beautiful and it is also where the Ainu (natives of Hokkaido) village is located. They were performing a traditional Ainu dance.

ah yes, the Ainus! I remember reading about them in the English textbooks of my junior high students in Japan... :)
